Chinese Domain Names Fraud? Beware!!

Last few days I received email from someone at Shanghai ChuK Network Information Technology Co. Ltd regarding my company’s domain name because I am the person in charge for it. This is the email which I mentioned just now:

Dear maiz-tech:
We are Shanghai ChuK Network Information Technology Co., Ltd, which is the domain name register center in China.I have something need to confirm with you.
We have received an application formally,one company named “Wanbo (China) Investment Co.,Ltd” applies for the domain names(www.maiz-tech.cn www.maiz-tech.com.cn etc.) ,and the Internet keyword(maiz-tech) on the internet May 21, 2008. We need to know the opinion of your company because the domain names and keyword may relate to the copyright of brand name on internet.
we would like to get the affirmation of your company,please contact us by telephone or email as soon as possible.

How To Enable Network Printer Sharing with Ubuntu Linux computers

Hye guys, today I would like to share with you tips and tricks on how to enable network printer sharing with computers using Ubuntu Linux. I found this tutorial from my friend’s blog, Papit.This tutorial really useful because at home I use Ubuntu and of course Windows as well.

Having a shared printer within a computer network is a nice thing to have. Since all computers within the network can access a remote printer to print documents. Maintenance cost is much more cheaper and easier since you only need to service only a single printer within a network.

Here’s how to enable Printer sharing with Ubuntu (or other Linux based computers) through GNOME :

At the computer with the printer



* First at the Desktop, go to System->Administration->Printing. A dialog will appear
* Go to Server Settings, and check the “Share published printers connected to this system” checkbox
